Blast Consignment owner Nikki Krohnfeldt draws unique pieces

Q. What made you decide on consignment?
A. With the economy and where everybody is today, it just seems to fit. I think people have a lot of better goods. They're willing to unleash them and let them go and to replenish their closet with something as good. It's just something the economy is looking forward to right now. It's a really good business to be in right now.
Q. What sort of items to Laguna Beach resident bring in?
A. It's very eclectic. There's art pieces, some of home décor pieces. There's just so many artists that live in our community so everything has a little twist. And the clothing, there's a lot of women who have a lot of money. They bring in the higher end, like the Dolce and Gabbana and the Prada bags, and in turn switch it out and buy a new Prada bag from someone else who brought one in.
Q. What's been your favorite part of having the shop open?
A. My favorite part, I have to be really honest, is having all my friends in the store. They bring in fabulous merchandise. It's almost like it's an army. It's a whole army of women who come in here, and we play and they shop. We have champagne at 5 o'clock. From a $1,500 vintage monkey-hair coat to True Religion jeans for under $40, Blast Consignment owner Nikki Krohnfeldt draws unique pieces like no other.
