Yves Saint Laurent sent a shout-out through cyberspace Tuesday for 130 extras — tall, elegant “beautiful people” — aged 25 to 50 to be in an advertisement. Sources say it’s for a YSL fragrance. Castingdujour.com e-mailed the announcement, explaining the casting is expected to take place this week and that the shoot will happen over one day between Dec. 13 and 15 in Paris and its environs. The pay will be 150 euros, or $200 at current exchange.
Emanuel Chirico, chairman and chief executive officer of Phillips-Van Heusen Corp., and Jeff Kantor, president of merchandising at macys.com, have been selected as the 2011 honorees for the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund. In addition, the founders of Visionaire — Cecilia Dean, Stephen Gan and James Kaliardos — will receive the organization’s first-ever Future of Fashion Award, acknowledging 20 years of creative contributions to fashion. The honorees will be recognized at the 45th annual YMA FSF Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner on Jan. 11 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
