Ok, ok: one look at this bag and you're probably thinking "Swiss cheese." I understand the comparison is inevitable, but this Hamptons tote in black perforated leather is very sleek, very masculine and makes for both the ideal work bag and carry-on (I should know; I own one and use it frequently!) Needless to say, it's incredibly roomy inside and the soft, contoured handles ensure a smooth grip no matter how much you're carrying. The double zipper feature is also a nice touch; it helps the bag keep its structure (the upper corners don't collapse in unlike some similar bags of this shape) while affording you privacy. As for those leather holes, it's actually a second layer of leather that's placed over the first layer, so nothing will fall out or be exposed. The "Y" is obvious in the photo, but not so much in real life--which, for me, is a good thing. Best of all? This is a runway bag, ensuring that you'll be one of the few owners of this limited-edition piece in the world.

This bag registers so high on the style meter, it is redefining the word "chic"--literally. While on my myriad of Pre-Fall 2010 appointments (translation: the clothes that come out in July and August), I stopped in my tracks at YSL, whose accessories bowled me over. The divine chunky wedges aside, I was drawn to this vintage-inspired handbag. Stefano Pilati went military for pre-fall this year and this bag is the perfect complement to epaulettes, wide leg pants and belted jackets. Doesn't this bag look like something your mom carried when she was young? Who else is having a "Brady Bunch" moment? I love the saddle bag-esque shape of this bag and the antiquated hardware. Inside are roomy compartments that expand to accommodate your belongings. The "Y" insignia closure is also incorporated in a way that it's not garish whatsoever. While this bag also comes in suede, I love it in this leather version; it's rigid, durable and completely Marsha, Marsha, Marsha.

When it first appeared in the bag scene we marvel clever use Y sign, chic small cylinder locks and simple and elegant design. Now, years later, I still find it is a kind of beautiful bag although I'm not sure why prices have increased so much! About you, you still Muse?

Some opinions molding machine said this is great, then others piles in know they agree. The most valuable is what I did. In the process of research I visited last year a book I won't even name (because I think you're drinking enough to).

This year I chaired the British panel, a somewhat less than onerous task. To keep breathing life into the event, the organisers try to change 30% of the panel each year, so I merely got to choose who those voters were. Obviously I exercised this right with extreme prejudice, packing it full of people I reckoned knew enough about restaurants around the world to justify giving them a vote, and then brutally excluding a few others to make way for them.

Tonight, at the Freemason's Hall in London's Covent Garden, Restaurant Magazine will announce its annual 50 Best Restaurants list. The top 100, from which those 50 will have been taken, has already appeared in the press, without any hint of their rankings. And so, once more, let the arguing begin.
Is El Bulli the best restaurant in the world? Should it be the Fat Duck or the French Laundry? Are the right restaurants on the list? Are they in the right order? Does the judging system work? Do we really care?
